NB Kitsap-Bangor, WA Housing and Relocation Information
The military provides two options for the use of your Basic Allowance For Housing (BAH). The first option is living on base. Your second option is using your BAH to rent or buy a home off base. We provide you with military friendly information to help you maximize your BAH.
- The Housing Service Center (800) 876-7022. Contact the HSO as soon as you know you are moving. You will be provided with the latest information on local housing as well as referral services and relocation assistance. They offer counseling and guidance before entering into a lease agreement and help resolve tenant-landlord disputes.
On Base Housing
The Unaccompanied Housing Services (360) 930-6830 offers assistance in finding housing for unaccompanied permanent party service members.
NB Kitsap-Bangor on-base housing is privatized and operated by Hunt Military-Pacific Northwest Communities (360) 598-5831, which offers 2-4 bedroom homes based on rank and family size. Community amenities include playgrounds, beach access and walking paths along the Puget Sound Waterway.

Bangor is a small town in Kitsap County, the 7th largest county in Washington, which is located on the Kitsap Peninsula. This is one of many peninsulas in the Puget Sound sheltered between the mainland (near Seattle) and the Olympic Peninsula to the west. Other residential areas include Poulsbo, Silverdale, Keyport, Chico, Seabeck, Tracyton, and Bremerton. These are all within a 30 minute driving distance of base and the average commute is just 22 minutes.
About the Installation
Naval Base Kitsap-Bangor is a combination of the former Naval Station Bremerton with the Naval Submarine Base Bangor. The Naval Base Kitsap-Bangor/Bremerton serves as the home base for the Navy's fleet throughout West Puget Sound and provides support for Fleet Ballistic Missile and other nuclear submarines that call Bremerton and Bangor their home ports.
